I've been working on the /q/ server, enabling the input routine so that commands can be entered, the first being "/tile" to enable tile mode. I'm only concerned with the server so I have "hot wired" the z-location to a single screen so there is no client-side scrolling for me to program.

Players can "File > Save As" the client and edit the file on your computer, and when you load the edited file in your browser, it should be able to connect to the server. I'm hoping we can find some people to help program the client this way.

To access the /q/ DevTeam server, sign-up at my Quintrix and Crew forum and read the sticky post in the Quantum DevTeam forum. http://quintrixandcrew.com

My hot wiring skills are lacking, as this line doesn't even actually work. A work in progress.

// this line only works because there is no scrolling;
// must be updated so that CharZ is calculated from the
// PZloc, which is the player's z-location on the world map
// this will need to be done in other routines as well
CharZ=PZloc;

The tile editor on the /q/ server is now functional.

/tile to enable tile editing mode, then as you move around the viewer you can use the letter keys to change the tile.

All tiles use an upper case letter, and then a lower case letter - the tile and it's subtile.

Pressing ENTER disables tile mode, and you can then "/save".

Again, the DevTeam client can be "File>Saved" and then edited, so players can now edit their client.

I don't think there is any more server code to do concerning tilesets, so everything that needs to be done is client-side.
