The latest version of the 'dragon' server is now online!http://dragonbasher.com/index.html
After creating a character, you can login to the 'demo' server and see a flower on the ground that you can pick-up and drop. One major difference in 'dragon' and 'queville' is that these flowers will disappear in sixty seconds - it doesn't matter if they are in your inventory or on the ground, they still disappear after sixty seconds.
You can also login to the 'queville' server where you can explore the Queville maps in the new four-screen viewer, and find several of our player hats scattered around the map. Again, these hats will disappear regardless of if they are in your inventory or on the ground.
The sunglasses (found in the Badlands) last only three minutes ... while other hats last thirty minutes. This is to showcase a core change in the new 'dragon' server, in that no item will last forever. Your swords will break, you armor will wear out, you food will rot.
The timestamps on these items can be pre-set, they can be random, and they can be adjusted as you play. So your "New Sword" will become "Rusty Sword" before it breaks, and there could be an NPC that can polish it or something so you can get more time out of it. These timestamps will become a major part of the new game engine and replace the "economy", so we will no longer be focused on maintaining how much gold is in-game, but rather how many items are in-game. It should solve a lot of problems and work a lot better, I'm highly optimistic.
Also of important is the return of 'King Que' in the Castle Courtyard! The King is on hand to let players know what is going on and will reveal the secret behind the broken Sundial that someone spray painted "ANARCHY" on. Looking forward to player's reactions to this news. :)
Players that take the time and trouble to download and (attempt) to install the source code can get access to the 'sysop' account and be able to put hats on the ground - to do so, wear the Black Hat in your inventory and when you click it there will be an option to "Add Static Item" that presents a menu of items that can be added to the map - note that I did not test the 'install' script, but I'm on hand to assist anyone having problems:http://dragonbasher.com/11-dragon-v1f.zip
Also notice there is a PayPal donation button, this would be a good time to help me out a little - I've been hit hard finacally with the electrical mishap at my house and need to start seriously considering the idea of reducing our hosting bill (currently thirty dollars a month):https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=2ZN35VU5AK8YJ
Thanks for everyone's patience with this project, QuaCzar and I will start working on the next update now - we hope to have a chat console in-game for Christmas/New Years!
