I have a computer box setup for dragon basher coding and was able to prep the load and save map routines for a new timestamp feature.
A new "/tile [tile]" will change the tile the player is currently standing on and update the map's timestamp so all players standing on that screen will see the update in real-time.
It will only update the tile the player is actually standing on, so the other three tiles will be static unless the player moves to it ... which should encourage a lot of moving which I perceive as a good thing, as games with avatars standing still are rather boring.
This new feature will also allow computer characters and buildings to edit maps, as well as items themselves editing the map - like a field of flowers being able to "grow" and then turn into "weeds".
I'm hoping this is the start of a productive programming season. :)
