I am close to an update and expect it to be online this week.

It will include the ability for players to obtain a sysop key and edit the 'demo' server map. I have a crude "Celeste" NPC programmed to explain how to obtain the key and edit the tiles. I hope to include a complete display of existing tiles.

Players will be able to edit, and other players can re-edit, and I have no idea what type of map we will end up with, so I have no idea what the future holds for it - it may just get deleted an we all start over.

I can say I fully expect a future where players have their own server where they can edit maps and other players can play on, and a network of teleports to connect these player-servers together.

This update should give everyone an idea as to how big and exciting this project can become.

You can see a preview if you click on the "Play Now!" link. Celeste will be there, but won't talk until the update. I made a little pond with a key I brought from the dev server. (I can't even get one on the preview, yet. :p)

The update is now online at http://dragonbasher.com and players can edit the demo map. Should be fun to see what players come up with.

I have no idea what will happen to the maps, I may just end up deleting them and starting over - so don't worry about messing things up, just have fun.

It introduces a "security" concept into the game engine which will need a lot more thought ... I'm hoping by Thanksgiving we can be putting static objects like Cities and Trees and Piers onto the map.

Here is a link to the tile viewer for players that want to try map editing:

There are some issues and we are working on some patches now. Overall we are pleased. :)

QuaCzar has patched the client fixing a scrolling issue and everything is looking great!

I encourage players to edit the 'demo' map by entering /key in the chat, clicking the key in your inventory, and then select "Enter Tile Edit Mode".

Now as you walk around the map, enter a CAPITAL letter to change the tile row, or enter a numeral to change the tile column. The entire 'demo' map is now open for playing editing.

Here is a full list of all avalabile tiles:
