Mainly thing that i've been tought of, is ask if battle system could change with new version of Queville? For now it's somehow chaotic. Once you could hit for about 4 turns, once not. I know that unpretidctable is making game more interesing but for now, no one could say how strong he is, if some trolls always can do them damage.

Also, I ask you Joe and Quaczar, how's the progress? You'd always talkin ,,it will be soon.'' So we have to wait to next month for another news?

Yeah, someone could say that i'm not patience, but when you're reading all these stuff bout ,,coming soon'' and you see nothing, you can get a bit angry. Serious XD

Greetings, Skrobkus

I think we're still hoping to release it close to Easter, which is what this forum is for, but there has been a last-minute delay. The installer will need to be adjusted, repackaged and probably retested before release. The online example server, itself, though being tested further in the meantime, will be ready when the installer is.

This installation will set up a random map walker, which can be customized into a game by installing or modifying files. A battle system would be added in this way, so there could actually be different battle systems on different servers. I don't know which battle system(s) Dragon Basher or Queville servers will end up using at this point, though you might find some Dragon Basher stub code in this demo.

I fully expect to release the demo sometime before the end of April; it is somewhat rare for me to issue such a deadline but I'm comfortable that we can get this out by then.

Although there is nothing to actually do in the demo, just walk around random grass. But once you see it, you will realize how awesome this update will be ... the whole map just opens up into one big world.

It is taking longer than the usual updates because this is a total re-write; we started with blank files and re-built the entire client and server. The demo itself is ready, what we are working on is an 'install' script so we can also release the source code.

Once released, DevTeam will focus on an inventory system where items can be picked up and dropped ... which will lead to the Player Hats so we can create a SysOp menu for editing the tilesets.

As of right now, we have smoothed out the walking ... instead of one step per 'tick' (one second), players can take multiple steps and hopefully we will be able to adjust the speed depending on what terrain you are walking on.

We are focused on user interface; the new screen size does not allow for the current sidebar and chat window, so everything will need to be displayed over the map.

When you click your own player, your inventory will popup. Click an item, and a menu for that item will popup where you can wear or drop it.

When you press ENTER, the console will popup where you can see the chat - I'd like for dragon to display chat over player's heads, so the console will be optional.

We want it to be possible to the entire game from this text console, so if you typed "/wear L0" it would wear the player hat or if you typed "/drop L0" it would drop the hat from your inventory.

Work is being done and I am going to say I want an update online by Thanksgiving; I actually want to say Halloween but I am not positive if can be ready by then so I don't want to say it will be.

Wanted to post an update to let everyone know QuaCzar and I are working on the next 'dragon' update and making a lot of progress. We have smoothed out a lot of the movement and lag and the scrolling is working out very well for us.

Right now, I can add items to the map that players can pickup, wear, and drop. The next update should have several hats scattered around Queville for players to find.

We are working towards having the NPC "King Que" in-game to explain to players some of what is going on. This NPC will reveal the mystery behind the broken "ANARCHY" sundial and give insight into things that are to come.

Overall, I am pleased with the progress and we should have something to put online soon. :)
